Alright, so I did the drawing fair and square. I printed all the comments, mixed them up and voila, the name that came out of the bowl is djones6250. Tim Holtz products

I was just looking at Tim's blog and he has some great instructional videos showing different techniques using some of his great new products. We currently have his distress hammer, a variety of grungeboard and the new fragments in stock. I encourage you to check out his blog, http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/ he is one creative guy (and not bad to look at.) The last couple years at the CHA show I have been lucky enough to watch him demo in person. He's so fun to watch and he really does a great job of explaining every step as he works. Those of you that know Gloria and I, know that we like our dogs. Some of you even helped me name my little dog "Scrappy." Many of you have seen Gloria's new little puppy "Pepe," and so you can understand why we are glad to help and share information about this project Tim is involved in. A Place to Bark is an animal rescue organization that saves dogs from being put down. Tim is giving away one of his favorite art pieces to one lucky winner as a Pay it Forward gesture to anyone that would like to make a donation to A Place to Bark. Be sure to check out his blog for links about this organization and more information on how you can enter his drawing and help this amazing lady continue to do wonderful work for these animals.

More NEW stuff

We've brought in some beautiful new papers. I guarantee you these pictures do not do justice for them. The SEI papers are glittered and/or foiled, the Daisy Bucket have their unique texture and are double sided and the Reminisce papers are glittered with a clear embossing over them and some have die cut edges. You have to see them to really appreciate them.

New Products in the store

They've arrived, the ATC Revolving Card Holder by Seven Gypsies. We've got many of the new accessories to go with the holder. If you love the idea, but are just too overwhelmed, watch for Sue's class in the spring.

 

Here is a picture of the project I will be teaching tomorrow at the {ART BAR} Happy Hour. This page can be made for any theme, so come in and join me for some fun and creativity. Project is just $5. Creative Cafe Contest

Creative Imaginations, manufacturer of the Creative Cafe product line, is hosting a contest. They want to see your work using their products. Here's your chance to show off your talents at our store AND possibly have your project shown at the CHAW (Craft and Hobby Association Winter show) in Anaheim. Here's how it works: Submit one project in any of the 6 categories: Card, Scrapbook Layout, Invitation, Party Favor, Home Decor Item, and/or Kid's craft. (You can enter more than one category, but only one entry per category.) All entries must use products from the Creative Cafe line (they do not specify how much CC products have to be used, but my guess is that the more CC products used, the better your chance will be of winning at the finalist levels...they are trying to promote their products afterall.) Submit your projects to our store on or before February 5th. Our store will choose one winner per category. All store-level winners will receive a $10 gift certificate for Creative Cafe products from our store, AND if you choose to you can host an {ART BAR} Happy Hour featuring your project. We will take the winning projects to the CHAW show with us. At the show they will choose winning projects and prizes will be awarded as follows: Category Finalists: 3 per category will be chosen. Those winners will receive a $25 gift certificate for Creative Cafe products. Category Winner: 1 per category will be chosen. These winners will receive a $100 gift certificate for Creative Cafe products and a Hampton Arts/Creative Cafe gift basket valued at $100 AND the project will be PUBLISHED as part of the 2008 Happy Hour Project Collection. Grand Prize Winner: 1 project deemed the "Best of the Best" overall will be chosen. That project will be used as part of a video segment on ATerriOShow.com An entry form can be picked up at the store. You will need one for each project entered, and you must include a list of all products used. Winning entries that are taken to the CHAW show will not be returned to us or to the participant. I know there are many very talented ladies out there, so get those creative juices flowing and make some terrific projects for this contest. It is so cool to see these ladies enjoying the {ART BAR} projects tonight. I'm working on next week's project, it's a 12" scrapbook layout using the Creative Cafe products and we're gonna add some pizzaz to the page with glitter. Fun! Fun! Hope to see you soon.

This and That

Oh you ladies are catching on...we got more than twice the number of comments this week than we did last week. So the winner of this weeks $10 gift certificate is. . . Patty from Medford. Gloria is serving up a great little project for happy hour this week at the {ART BAR}. Join her between 4:30 & 6:30 this Wednesday to make this cute little Post It note holder. You can see from the picture, it's adorned with fun, layered flowers. The project is just $5. Join me next week (January 23rd) for happy hour, I'll share my recipe for a 12"x12" layout using Creative Cafe products. I'll post a picture later this week. The girls are teaching some great classes this week. Ronda's Iris Folding class is full tonight, and there is a long waiting list. If you are interested in making some unique Valentine cards, give us a call as we are trying to put another class on the schedule to accomodate those that weren't able to be in the class tonight. Friday morning Kristen is teaching a stitching class. Use the brand new Bazzill stitching templates to make 2 terrific cards. Have you heard the buzz about the new Grungeboard that Tim Holtz has designed? It's really neat stuff, it's dimensional like chipboard, but it's flexible. You can bend it, twist it, sand it, ink it, and Sue has been working her magic on with it. During her class she will show you some of the wonderful possibilities. We just met with a rep last week and ordered some great new papers. Basic Grey's new "Two Scoops" line is already on the way. We also ordered some pretty new papers from SEI. From Daisy Bucket we are bringing in their bright and cheery new papers along with some new single image acrylic stamps just in time for Valentines day. They come from right here in Oregon so we should receive them soon. We love to support other small, independent companies and the fact that they are from Oregon is just another added bonus. {ART BAR} Project

Kristen is hosting the {ART BAR} this week. The project is this cute little mini accordion album made with chipboard, papers and embellishments from the Creative Cafe Line. The cost is just $5. I also want to share some page samples done by the very talented Donna (you remember Donna that worked here.) She has used some of the cute Creative Cafe embellishments along with other products found here at the store. You can see these pages in person at the store.
